Bonnievale lies in the shadow of the Langeberg and Riviersonderend Mountains, on the banks of the Breede River. This colorful village is not as well known as the other towns in the Breede River Valley and is by-passed by the popular Route 62, making this area undoubtedly the Western Cape’s best kept secret.

Bonnievale boasts four co-operative wine cellars, four wine estates, two private wine producers as well as two cheese factories. It is no surprise then that the town is also know as The Valley of Cheese and Wine.
