McGregor | Breede River Valley

McGregor is a charming rural village at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountains in the Western Cape’s Breede River Valley.  Situated about 20 kilometres from Robertson, there is a good road network in the area and the village has access to the N2 via the Stormsvlei Pass.  Route 62 is the longest wine route in the world and attracts a variety of visitors all year round looking to take in the exquisite views and sample the quality wines.

One of few places in the world to be situated directly on ley lines, McGregor is considered a sacred site and imbued with a mystical natural energy.  This means that the residents are comprised primarily of artists, healers and colourful characters.  The area maintains the appeal of a 19th century hamlet and the whitewashed cottages with rambling gardens seem to take you back to times gone by.  There are still old stone irrigation channels in evidence, which are a testament to the rustic nature of the Breede River region.

Named after one of the old Scottish clans, McGregor is set in a valley surrounded by rolling hills and lush vineyards.  Residents have the opportunity to take long, leisurely walks through the countryside or hike in the hills and up the mountainside.

The mild climate adds an extra appeal to this gem in the Breede River Valley and there really is no doubt as to why property is so popular here.
